Make clean energy a real priority
The United States faces a number of environmental challenges, including climate change, air and water pollution, and waste management. These challenges threaten our public health, economy, and environment, according to Lisa McCormick, who said, "In order to address these challenges, the United States needs to adopt a comprehensive and ambitious environmental policy that actually makes clean energy a real priority instead of merely a political punchline."
McCormick outlined a number of important policy proposals that the United States should take to address its environmental challenges, among them, investing in clean energy, improving energy efficiency, protecting our natural resources, reducing the amount of waste we generate and increasing recycling, setting ambitious environmental goals, enforcing environmental regulations, plus educating the public about environmental issues.
"The United States is behind schedule in meeting its net-zero emissions targets, because our government is not doing enough to invest in clean energy and reduce waste since it is not taking seriously the need to protect nature," said Lisa McCormick.
